For a few weeks in November, I have been reading a book called "Skinny"
Skinny is about a young 15 year old girl named ever, weighing 302lbs. She gained the weight right after her mother died. Even though ever tries to ignore bullying going around at school it all still gets to her. She hangs out with her friend Rat, who is her best friend. Many people have called her huge, gigantic, waste of space, elephant, and so much more. Until one day she has a fight with her step sister, briella. Briella asked about a gastric bypass. Ever said she had thought about it before but she didn't know if I would work. So later on in the book ever and her father go to the doctor , and ever gets signed up for the surgery. Once she gets the surgery and a complete makeover, she tries to find out who she is reallyand tries to ignore all of the harsh comments. Closer to the end of the book ever gets the boy if her dreams but the one she really wanted was in front of her the whole time. Read to find out more and who ever chooses.

One thing I did kind over winter break...
Recently over break, my best friends father passed away in tragic accident. He passed by gun shots to his stomach by 2 police officers on Tuesday December 27. Unfortunately he passed and did not make it.
I was with my best friend for basically the whole break to be there to help her and her mom clean out their house of his belongings and to be there for my best friend. I helped pack his clothes, shoes, and other belongings so they won't have the memory of his loss.
But most importantly I was there for my best friend by asking if she was okay, being right beside her through everything, my family offered her and her mom to stay at my house for a few days. I was there to make her laugh and have good times out of the bad times.
Everytime we saw the incident on the news about her dad I would make her laugh and try to get her mind off of the fact that people thought her dad was a bad Person and that to remember the person he really was, not what people say or think of him by the first and last impression they had of him. So that is one kind thing I did over winter break.

My Goal for 2017
My goal for 2017 is to work on my attitude. Over the last few years my attitude got worse. I have told people I hated them and I would always start drama.
In 7th grade I told everyone that if they were already taking about me, I was already talking about them. I started so much drama at my church in the youth group that I had to recently leave to take a break.
So now I have returned to Church and I haven't started any drama. I started off last year hating everyone and starting drama 24/7. But now as I get older I understand that its not good to have a bad attitude and being rude all the time.
If you're like that, no body would want to be your friend. So now I have started to change. this year I really want to find out who I am and stop staring drama, work on my attitude and worry about myself for once. So that's just a few things I want to work on this year.

Trump or Clinton?
I think that this election was one of the most competitive. Trump and Clinton both had very good ideas, but I would disagree with trump about his thoughts and his actions. Many times he made fun of disabled people, kicked a women and her baby out of a rally, and was almosted killed at one of his rallies.
I think Clinton had better thoughts, she never kicked anyone out, she actually talked to her voters and listened to what they had to say, she wasn't racist at all. But the only thing everyone disliked about her was that she said you can rip a baby out of the womb the day of the due date. So at exactly 9 months. Many thought this was not okay or disagreed with her thoughts.
So I think many people voted for trump only for that reason about the abortion. I personally think it is the women's choice, its her body she should decide. Not have an child because she is forced to, have a child if she wants to. Even though many others think abortion is wrong, it's not their choice. It's the womens right to choose if she wants to mess up her body and have a child she actually wants. Not mess up her body for a child she doesn't even want. If there was no abortions there would be millions of chrildren born and the adoption centers would be filled with unwanted children.

"Racist Killers"
Racism has been going on for years and years. If you look back to the 1900's you'll see that racism was one of this biggest problems. People died and fough for racism to end. Racism is one of the biggest problems that people have brought up. In social media, talking to their friends, writing stories and new articles, to even fighting for their lives just because they have a different skin color.
In Chicago, many people see policeman as racist killers. But you have think that not all policemen are like this. Many care for us and want to protect us. People can't out all policemen in a group if one policemen is being racist. For example, a white policeman shoots a black man because he goes and reaches out to his pocket. Everyone will assume that all of the policemen are like this. But people need to stop doing this. In that group one out of all the others did something racist, that doesn't mean all of them will do something that one did.
According to data from a survey taken by 8th grade students, 51.6% believe policeman are racist. 48.4% believe that policeman are not racist. This explains that many students think that policemen are racist and they judge people on their skin color, and even religion.
Other data form the survey shows that 15/32 students said that some policemen are racist but not all. This proves that many people think that policemen are being racist but a handful of them aren't. Many do care about us and want to protect us. Not all of them want to see others suffer. The other 17 say that policemen are racist but mainly in Chicago. This is showing us that a few people think that all policemen in Chicago are being racist.
While reviewing responses from the survey, one student said they were scared to wear a hoodie, scarf, and however a hat due to the "racist" policemen. Instead of helping us they are hurting us.
Even though data shows that more students think that policemen are racist. Many would agree that some are racist but not all. So if more people would take the survey they would all agree that some policemen are racist but not all. Many care for us and treat us kind and fair. I am Grateful For...
I am grateful for my family. I know this sounds cliche, but I really am. I am thankful for them because the love me, care for me, make sure I'm okay, buy me the things I want/need. They love me and I love them.
I am thankful for my grandma, she buys all the things I want, she loves me unconditionally, and I thank her for that. I am thankful for my mother, she cares for me, loves me, provides for me, for example, my house, my room, my clothes, my school supplies, she gets me the most important things, and especially she gave me life.
I am thankful for my sister, she played games with me when I was small, and showed me right from wrong as I grew older, she tells me what real friends are, and what fake ones are, she gives me advice, and even though we always get in fights, I still love her and I'm thankful to have her because if she wasn't in my life, I would be bored out of my mind.
I am thankful for my grandpa, he loves me, he spoils me, he fought for our country, I am very thankful for him. I am thankful for my uncle, he can be selfish at times, but when he isn't, he gives me and my sister money, and buys us things, even though he acts like a 3 year and is really 36, he makes things funny and fun, and I'm thankful for him.
I am thankful for all, my friends, because they helped shape the person I am today, they showed me what real friends are who friends were, who I should and shouldn't talked to, and I am thankful for each and everyone of them.
Last but not least, I am thankful for my best friend. Without her I would be know where, she makes me laugh, cry of laughter, she gets me mad, happy, sad, annoyed, but those are all the reasons of why I love her. So I can be thankful for many more things but I'd be writing a big book. So these are just a few things I'm thankful for.

News article: TWO 7TH GRADE STUDENTS GOT INTO A FIGHT?!
June 1st 2016, Two heritage middle school students got into a fight. It was in the afternoon right after lunch when two 7th grade students got into it. Names were not released. One of the girls claims she was confronting the other. " So I heard that she was going around telling people that she was going to fight me on the last day of school. So I asked her why did she say this, and then when she made the first punch, so I ducked it and hit her back. My momma always told me that if anyone ever tries to hit me, then I should hit them back." Says one of the victims.
So after one of the girls made the first punch, the other ducked it and hit her back on the face, taking advice that her 34 year old mother gave too her. The same girl then grabbed the other by the hair then dragged her to the stairs. "I heard her hair ripping out because I was pulling it so hard. She kept trying to punch me and struggling to get out to fight me for real but she couldn't."
A witness says "I thought they were going to knock me over and I would fall down the stairs. I left down the stairs as soon as I could." (Witness did not want to be named). Teachers tried to get the students off each other but it wasn't easy. A lunch lady at Heritage then got one of the girls off and calmed her down.
Soon after the fight ended, the students parents came and talked to teachers and principals. According to the same victim "When I was in the office, the other girl got in trouble by her mom. We both had to stay on the office until our consequence was determined. My momma didn't have as much of a problem with this, because I was defending myself." The student that was defending herself didn't get in trouble since she was defending herself. The other got suspended for the rest of the school year (only a school week). Most of the consequences were issued by parents and minor from the school their self.
